Beyond the laboratory

INTRODUCTION

Building robust systems from subtle dynamics.

I investigate the nonlinear dynamics and intelligent design of micro-electromechanical systems. My goal is to transform rich physical behaviour into reliable, high-performance sensing technologies.

Outside the lab, I enjoy bicycling—a useful reminder that balance is always dynamic.

RESEARCH JOURNEY

From symmetry to new couplings.

A research path shaped by the pursuit of robust sensing, scientific independence, and useful physical insight.

ETHOS · FOUNDATION

Trust earned through sustained research

My doctoral work at Tohoku University was supported by the JSPS Doctoral Fellowship and the GP-Mech Program Scholarship in 2020. In 2023, I was recognised through Shanghai’s Young Talent Programme. Since joining Shanghai University, I have secured multiple competitive public and industry-funded projects.

LOGOS · EVIDENCE

Ideas translated into results

My work has led to more than 40 SCI and EI publications, over 10 patent applications, and one granted patent in Japan and China. I have led research funding exceeding RMB 1.5 million, connecting fundamental mechanics with deployable engineering solutions.

PATHOS · DIRECTION

Choosing the less travelled route

I began with highly symmetric MEMS inertial resonators and proposed a tunable, high-symmetry gyroscope architecture. Recognising that this route relies on industrial capabilities often concentrated in large companies, I turned to coupled resonators—where nonlinear physics offered a more open frontier and richer phenomena to discover.

Past: high-symmetry inertial resonators and tunable gyroscopes.

Present: weakly coupled nonlinear resonators, dissipative bistability collapse, complementary Fano resonance, and nonlinear micromirrors.

Next: MHz piezoelectric resonators for low-power applications, nonlinear frequency combs, dispersive and internal resonance, multimode coupling, and acousto-optic nonlinearities.
